How much did your computer cost when you first purchased it?

Mine didn't cost me anything because I exchanged my old HP computer for my new iBuyPower PC via Geek Squad due to unforseen issues from shipping it and messing with it when I wasn't supposed to. This computer usually retails for $1299 though.

My Pc was around 900$ when i got it.

I was thinking of getting an iBuyPower PC on sale but then the review of users made me change my mind.

Around £650 from Amazon. It is a HP Envy x360 which I love. Small but not too small. And the touch screen makes it a great device when I have it in tablet mode.

I'm planning to upgrade my pc again in 2020. The GPU only will cost more than $500. I hope the price drops when RTX 3000 is out.

back 10 years ago I paid like $2400 and then over the years I had upgraded, Added extra 8gb Ram, New case, Power supply, GPU, SSD and HDD, CPU cooler.

Well, CPU and Motherboard are the only oldest part the rest is newer. So even that I tend to use the same hardware I had many upgrades over the years. One day I like to have a full new pc that's around £2500 or more. Gaming rig. But I do not have that money.

You can replace only your MOBO and Proccessor and then continue from there. I'm waiting for a DDR5 reasonable prized motherboard to update, maybe i'll get another ASUS TUF one.

Motherboard is DDR3 and so I would need to replace ram also. So that's their things and Ram of 32gb are not cheap you know. With that, it's like almost £800

Oh well, DDR3 isn't too bad, maybe you can sell your old pc to buy a new one. With this internet thing is easy to do it tbh, i sold my FX-8150 a month ago with ease.

It was a super top-of-the-line gaming laptop by MSI (the one that was $2,900) that died after a week....

M current one (the one for $1850) is an alienware 17.3 inch gaming laptop, similarly specc'd....it's almost 3 years old at this point though I got it back in 2018.

Oh, now i get it. For 3 grand you can build a NASA pc mate but on laptops gets more expensive.

Mind telling the model? i'm not a big fan of 17'' notebooks, quite big and heavy.

The model I got now is an Alienware 17 R5.

The MSI that died on me was the stealth something or other, I don't really touch MSI anymore. And yeah I know the whole desktops are cheaper thing but the way my setup is, I can't have a desktop machine, laptop is my only option. It stays stationary so it being big and bulky isn't a problem for me......well, as long as it's not TOO big.

I understand, not all situations are the same. I wish i could afford a gaming notebook too..

I saw affordable Dell laptops with 10th gen Intel proccessors. I don't know if they are trustworthy though ($450)
