I've never bought anything off e-bay. I've heard of customers being scammed on it, hence why I myself don't really trust them. I always have bought from Amazon Prime and do have Amazon Prime myself, Prime Video and Kindle Unlimited and a have just dowloaded today on my MacBook Pro the "Amazon Kindle" e-reader app. It's one of my favourites so far for me personally. I'm reading currently "The Murder of Roger Ackroyd" by Agatha Christie whilst listening to Chinese music on Deezer Premium.

The same exact thing can and does happens on Amazon. It's depends on the seller, their rating, their responsiveness and so forth.

Case in point I brought a 5.99 Li ion battery for my feature like phone as Amazon didn't offered it and it came quite quick and without issues and sealed.

A lot of reputable companies also use EBay to purchases used components as it a treasure tore of them if you do your research and buy from reputable sellers.

Thus provided you don't bid/buy everything you click on it should be comparable if not better than Amazon when it comes to 3rd party sellers and them not using Amazon services like their "shipping and fulfilment" services.

I have used Amazon Prime for years and have never had a problem. You just have to make sure the item you're ordering ships and is sold by Amazon. When people start ordering items that is sold by a second or third party vendor is where you can get scammed and never receive your item.

I used them both and i'd say it's almost the same. To shop brand new stuff i'd go with amazon and for second handed things i'd go with e-bay.

Keyword being "can" doesn't means you will unless you aimlessly choose to click on everything that pops up.

Just be mindful of your purchases and you will be generally be OKAY buying from 2nd if not 3rd parties.

I brought important equipment from 3rd parties without an issue. From hardware to cane tips but I never had such a problem since the COVID shiz settled it's dusts of course...

Amazon all the way, order and get it the next day, been a prime member for 4 years now ;) and when you order you do get what you get and all new gear :) It's a safest and better option and cheap. eBay is something that I never trust.

Not nearly as much anymore, it used to be good but even places beside Ebay like Staples been wonderful. Got the riser in two days and because it wasn't at all the right size I was looking contrary to what the site said and the sales rep informed me I got not only my money back but also got keep the riser. :)

If there were other options on their site I wouldn't tried another unit but there weren't.

It's a safest and better option and cheap.
Not true even to the slightest. Especially during store wide sales and such. Assuming Amazon is always or even often the best for your money/quality is gonna do you harm in the long term. Or at least to your bank account.

Also for the records now Prime is ridiculously overpriced I rather pay "at the meter" for the faster shipping if I really needed it and I can't get it say at Target, HomeDepot, etc. Or as I said on Ebay.

I always buy on Amazon. I've had very very few problems with Amazon. As for Ebay, I have had some bad experiences. I rarely ever buy off of Ebay unless there's no other alternative. My mother used to shop on there all of the time and people you buy from sometimes rip you off. Mainly because they list it as new and than mail it broken to you or just take your money and never send it.

I’m too scared of being scammed on E-Bay that I buy everything off Amazon,

My hubby has been shopping on ebay for years and years.

I've been shopping on Amazon before but I don't do it often. Normally, I get on there when I have an Amazon gift card and I purchase e-books for my Kindle.

Similar here I try to go smaller stores and such BEFORE "resorting" to Amazon. I will only use Amazon for my nesscared gears like my cane tips, only because there aren't independent trusted distributors for those apart from local blind centers. Which during the pandemic is obviously an issue right now.

I've been shopping from eBay since about 2006 and I've only ever been scammed on one item (which thankfully was just a book that cost like €8). I'll use it quite a bit when I'm buying video game collectibles but if I'm buying computer parts I'd use Amazon then.

You can get scammed on both services and it's not really an issue, Paypal pretty much always sides with the buyer so you'll only really end up losing your time.

I would change this and try for Ebay in the future especially for used parts.

For instance you can get really good used SSDs that still have much life into them comparable if not better than similarly priced new ones.

It's so good that some hosting providers employ these for their internal instrafacture and for budget deployment requirements.

I tend to use eBay for pre-owned stuff, and Amazon for new..

I've only been scammed once on a game I paid £30-£40 for on eBay.. For some reason I only got a partial refund from PayPal, I'm guessing it pre-dated their current guarantees as it was probably around 2005/6.

At the moment I'm picking up some old PS2 games pretty cheaply from eBay (Music Magpie) ?

While we are on still on the subject, I ordered up my Red Wigglers (150 of them which should be weighing in at roughly 2.4 ounces) yesterday on Amazon. From a vendor who promises them live and they should be sending them out of the door within the hour so hopefully I can get composting in a jiffy. :)
Post automatically merged:

Out of nowhere we were able to revert the order seeing as we completely stumbled upon a HUGE fishing and hunting specialist store. Which actually had the works of baits including the sought after red worms (red wigglers).

Got ALMOST the same quantity at FRACTION of the price. :)

To be fair though the vendor was very fair with the dealing and said sorry for the not correct information but I already gotten them so I told them to if I could please have the order cancelled. Which they promptly did without questioning me. :)
