It's A Me, Mario!
Indeed, my local mayor had a very old system that he gave away to me, so old that runs flobby disks and doesn't even have an operating system. Just think HOW large it was. I did not have it that long since I get bored right away, games that I had was back in the 80s :p

It was a Gateway desktop that I found at a yard sale. I paid $50 for it.

Sounds like a steal! Did you like it?
Loved it and it lasted 5 years before I began having problems with it. .The repair shop advised me it would cost more to fix than to buy a new one.

In terms of my actual first laptop, it was my HP Envy x360. Before that, I would just use the family one. The first-ever family laptop we got was a Dell. No idea what model it was and honestly I'm glad I don't remember it, it was awful lol

My first family desktop was a beigebox Gateway, kinda wish we still had it tbh.
As for the first machine I actually bought for myself, it was a self-built in 2012 with a 2500k & a Radeon HD 6870 which I later upgraded to a GTX 660ti. Cost around €1200 IIRC, though the 660ti would have bumped it up to ~€1500

I can't recall what the brand was. Only thing I really remember, as this was back in the day when the internet was extremely new, is that it had a black & white version of Tetris loaded onto it. I mainly wanted a computer because I had always used a Word Processor (remember those? lol) for schoolwork.

Yes in 1993 I got my first computer. Around $1400 if I remember correctly. Full tower, 8MB ram, DX 33 megahertz CPU, 250MB HDD, and one 5 1/4 floppy drive. Also came with a monitor, keyboard and mouse, and MS-DOS 3.1. It was freaking awesome!

My first pc that i bought with my money was a FX-8150 + GTX 660 ti back in 2011. My previous PCs were gifts from my parents. I had that pc for 9 years, now i own a R5 3600 XT + 1080 Ti. I plan to upgrade it again in a couple of years when things are more "normal".

Nice. I have that same CPU. Good stuff. How is that 1080 Ti? I have a GTX960 and want to eventually upgrade.

Our first family PC was an old Packard Bell.. Pentium II 233MHz, 4GB HDD, Windows 95 - oh it was a joy ?

The first one I bought myself was an Acer, but arrived with some kind of fault on the motherboard. I don't recall what the exact issue was.. I got it fully refunded though and bought myself a DELL XPS 420, Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.40GHz, 1TB RAID, Windows Vista. It was pretty decent, and lasted a good while before it eventually ended up in the skip - literally.

I have the old 1080 TI in my PC, it struggles now days with age lol
It's still a monster GPU, its 11 GB of VRAM does it all!, I have the ROG Strix version that has an awesome thermal solution that my card never goes up 40°C even when stressed to the maximum!! :)

I don't recommend now to buy a 1080 Ti unless you get it through a nice deal, its prize is sky-high and it's a card that is 4 years old. If you have that kind of money to buy a new card, get the RX 6600 XT.
