sometimes other family members do. However, we need it more for ourselves. Aren't getting much income and with jobs slacking off it's not easy to tip off people. Then again been over 12 months since I went out into a restaurant.

Not sure in other countries, but sadly here in the states tips is how people who serve tables make most of their money.
It's not normal in the UK like it is in the USA which I'm grateful for. Service staff shouldn't have to rely on tips to make a decent wage at their job. It's just a shitty way for employers to pay their staff less.

But we do tip sometimes depending on the service.

I typically tip 15%, which is the standard here in Canada. Sometimes more, sometimes less, but it is always dependent on the situation and the service received.

Tipping isn't really a customary here in Ireland, but I still tip take away delivery drivers pretty much because it's what my parents always do
Yeah although I always feel a bit weird giving a small tip.

Can't really give a larger tip because it's going to end up being a higher % of the total order.

And I guess it's worse now for delivery drivers because people are reluctant to handle cash nowadays.

You pretty much have to in order to have the people like you. I mean, you want that if you eat there often. Anyway, even if you don't, it's just being nice and I feel bad if I don't.

What to tip? I don't go overboard, but I try not to be cheap.

Yes! I always leave a tip regardless of my experience at the place. I’ll usually leave a £5-£10 tip depending on the service.
