Relationship you wish had never happened?

I certainly have some regrets with one ex in particular, but do I wish that it never happened? I don't know. I feel like I learned a lot dealing with all that back then, and it allowed me to be more selective about who I would be with going forward.

I'm finding myself wishing more and more that I never got with my last ex wife. We just had issues from day one. I stayed with her because I really wanted things to work and because I was afraid of being alone. But I don't feel that way anymore. I'm finding that it's not good to live vicariously through the women I get with.

Learn to like being with yourself before getting into a new relationship?

I agree with Cam, somehow my frustated relationships made me learn a lot about how to deal with women and how to accurately select my partner. I can't say i don't "regret" but it was a step i had to take in order to grow up.

I've had a few here and there; however, my first marriage lasted 15 years, and my current is 20. I'm doing okay. :)
It's so common to read now that people get married more than 2 times, when i was a kid i thought that only celebrities get married more than once! :D

My grandmother sat down with me and told me that I needed to work on staying single. That my relationships with women have brought me nothing but bad results. I plan on being single for a long time. It's hard some days, but I'm getting better.

My husband and I have been together for 34 years in marriage and dated for 6 years prior to getting married. It's hard to make it work at times, but we stuck it out and things are so much better.

That's rare to have these days. A lot of the younger generation treats marriage like it's nothing. They don't even want to work at it when times get hard.

I see that happen a lot! As long as someone isn't abusive, you find that you can work through some of the things that might appear huge at the time, but are manageable. It's how much you're willing to tolerate and let go to make it through.

We all change as we get older, some for the better, some for the worse. Maybe a woman is a brat at 25 but gets less bratty in her 50s? LOL
