I used to host & help admin one years ago, despite never actually taking part in any of the RP'ing myself, since it was one of my friends who owned it and didn't know much about installing the software or anything.
Really miss it, the community was one of my favorites out of the forums I used to...
It's a yearly occurrence with Virgin Media (and even when they were called UPC). Though 1 day a year thankfully isn't the end of the world so I'm happy enough to stay with them.
I've signed up to a few and then pretty much forgotten about them as soon as I see they require approval. Thankfully though you're right, I don't see these kinds of processes too often these days.
Nope, I tend not to give websites permission for stuff unless it's absolutely essential - I definitely have allowed certain things in the past but I'm struggling to remember them, tbh. I can't imagine location was one of them.
This was always the part that bugged me as well, a lot of the time it's not a matter of not knowing, but not wanting to do it themselves lol.
I'm only tech support sometimes, my dad is savvy enough that I don't get asked by my immediate family that much - maybe once a year I'm asked to sort out...
Sometimes... I do buy music if I like it enough (regardless of medium), especially if I think I'll ever DJ with it.
CD would probably be bottom of the list for me though. MP3 > Vinyl > CD
Don't bother no, I think most of the people in my area are so old they wouldn't even have laptops/computers themselves, let alone knowledge to take advantage of default passwords.
Never been to into it myself - liked the lightsaber battles and such as a kid, couldn't really keep up with all the in-universe politics and what not though. Think it's kinda held together by the original trilogy, all I ever hear are complaints about every succeeding entry.
