What’s a good hobby to get into that is not too expensive?

Running - this is something I've recently picked up myself. Meditation is also a great one - there are many videos you can find on youtube.

Singing can be another great hobby that doesn't cost you anything but your time (and voice). The fun part about singing is that you can be as casual or formal as you want with it.

For example, you could sing at home, in your car, or in the shower. That's causal. Or, you can take it up a notch and sing in a choir or group. Want to sing with friends? Go to karaoke a few times a week and practice.

The one thing that holds a lot of people back from singing is just fear of being judged. But honestly, the more you practice and prepare, the more you can conquer your fear.

I even judge my own singing abilities though, I really don't need other people to judge them as well.

Running is a great hobby, love it. Helps to clear the mind and a few km at the start of the day gets everything kickstarted :)

Yes! I need to wake up earlier so I can squeeze in morning runs. With it getting dark so much earlier it feels like I don't have the time to work in after the work day.

I absolutely love singing. I'm not the best singer but I enjoy it none-the-less. I think people say that I sing well on karaoke not so much because my voice is great, but that I'm not afraid to get up there and sing in front of everyone.

I'm going to go for a sort of cheap option rather than it just being a sort of "free" hobby - being a webmaster/blogger. Honestly, you can get a website or blog set up quickly and extremely cheaply. To be fair, you could probably get it set up for free as well although there might be a few issues here and there with that option.

I guess that fishing is cheap once you have bought all of the stuff then it is basically free apart from some worms or whatever.

Personally I don't see the attraction at all myself, but my neighbour is always getting up and out at about 5am to go fishing early. (he is a bit of a strange man though).
