I've got a daughter. Before, I didn't know that I could love someone so much. I would literally sacrifice my own life if it meant saving her. It's pretty crazy to think about. I think I'd like more children some day.

One day I would like to have 2 children (not at the same time) but I've yet to meet the right long term partner.

I don't... even at 31, I don't feel ready. I'm worried that I'd be a bad parent, because I can't see myself being able to dedicate the time, energy, resources, and patience that a child deserves.

Never say never, but while my partner and I are both feeling this way, we have no plans to have kids.

Depends a lot on who I meet I guess. My general feeling is that I would be very happy without kids. I see the appeal of having them especially since it's essentially a mini version of you but it's probably not for me.

I would much rather have the role of the fun uncle.

I currently have 2 children. A daughter who is 12 and a son who is 10.

Do you think you can make them forum members sometime? :p

Jokes aside, i would love to have 2 as well.

I don't have any, I'm incapable of having any, and honestly, after having been a part of my sister's friend's daughter's life from birth to 4 so far, I'm alright with not having any. They're great, but the amount of work involved...yikes!

I read a lot about "the fear of becoming a parent" strikes in... but people change when they have kids.. i don't know if that makes sense to you.

It definitely makes sense, it's your own offspring and you love it dearly, but I don't see me heading down that path. Also I'm incapable of having kids, anyway, so no loss there.

While I love being married, I don’t want kids. I am child-free by choice. People often say Oh you're childless. No, that means I'm missing something. By Choice means I chose not to have kids.

& while it’s true some people DO change their mind, I feel having a kid to test that theory out is wrong. I’ve seen many people regret having their kids. Sure, they love them, but the “If I could do over…” they’d choose to not give in to pressure by what society or family said.

That's really tough for children to hear. Being loved is different than being wanted as a kid, i had a girlfriend that wasn't acknowledged by her father and.. she had lots of daddy issues.

That's a hurtful way to grow up. Was it because she was a female or did he just not want kids?
