Firefly TV series

When I first watched this many years ago, I couldn't get into it. Then I watched Castle with Nathan Fillion & thought I revisit the Firefly series. I got hooked! It ended too abruptly for my liking. There is a cult following however. They did shoot a movie, Serenity, that takes place after the last episode of the series to help tie some loose ends. What did you think of it?

I watched some of it because Summer Glau was in it. I didn't care much for the show at all.

When I watched Serenity, it felt really separate from the show to me.

Fox is notorious for axing good tv. In Firefly's case, they did not show the two hour pilot. Then they aired episodes out of order. They also pr-empted Firefly for football and random stuff. Then they also shifted the day and airing time around. They aired something like 11 of 14 episodes, before killing it for 'low ratings'

Basically, they made it really really hard for Firefly to succeed, and we will forever hate them for it. Because it is a really good show... and the cult following continually proved the love for it.

It was good for what it was, a last chance to quickly provide some sort of closure to a story that ended way too soon. But you're right, it's not on the same level.
