Is Marriage Necessary?

Sometimes yes, taking loans over houses and things like that yes. Those kind of decisions you take it as a couple like.. a house for the family that is beyond yourself.

I would not live long term with someone without getting married. In the US, marriage provides legal protections to the individuals in the marriage including some that cannot be duplicated through a power of attorney or medical directive. I am simply unwilling to share my life and co-mingle my resources with someone who does not understand the legal benefits and protections provided by marriage. Anyone who is so afraid of commitment as to forgo those those benefits and protections is not worth my time. Here is a list of benefits of marriage from the Human Rights Campaign website.

I wouldn't move in with someone unless we got married. You can call me old fashioned or whatever but that's my stance on it. I'd have to get to know the person first before getting married but that's all part of the process of dating though.

I can agree with you for the most part. Can lead to arguments and especially if you don't know the person. I used to live with my girlfriend and we didn't get along very well and ended up breaking up.

I think marriage is necessary even if you don't believe in God because it's still a formal union between man and woman.

It's not, there so many other arrangement opportunities that doesn't requires you to "put a ring on it". Whether it's close friends, couples, etc.

Different tax brackets and allowances for single and married people in many places.
This isn't always the case though. SSI is so absurd with this for instance.

Singles: $2,000 in total "resources" (anything that will buy you food and/or shelter. So a GameStop gift card wouldn't counts towards this but a Amazon one would.)
Married/Couples: $3,000 among BOTH people

So yea if I was going off how much I can "legally" holds at a given time (which would be only source of "burst" savings) then marriage titling alone wouldn't cut it.

Yes, so that you know thstd your man or woman. No trespassing at all by others You create a family and know that you have to make it work

That depends on the individual couple's thinking. But I personally think marriage is not a guarantee for a love relationship.
