Yes, because those who have grown up with social media have grown up with the mindset that it's ok to be a toxic individual and extol views so long as people give you a like. They live their lives around pointless metrics and forget what life is actually about.
Social media has raised a generation of people that don't know how to effectively communicate and build toxic relationships. It has rather raised a generation that believes everything is instant like Instant Messaging. They start relationships behind computer screens without real connections.
Social media is more of a place where transactional relationships are built. It was never meant to replace personal relationships. Hoping that social media would help people build good relationships is a mirage.
