This may be a controversial topic for some, but let's go with the assumption that everyone who is reading this is professional and respectful.

What are your thoughts on Pride Month? Is it overrated? Unnecessary? Or is it worth it and important in your opinion? I am going to add a poll to this thread, please feel more than welcome to reply in it if you wish.

I myself am a proud, gay male. I have a partner of a bit over a year, and couldn't be happier. I am a home body and he is an extreme extrovert, our differences definitely challenge AND compliment each other.

Pride Month isn't all to important to me, but I can understand how it means the world for some. I am fortunate that while I was expecting the worst for my coming out story, I was blessed with the complete opposite. There was a learning and adjustment curve that was awkward at times as expected, but life is just so much better now. For my local Pride Parade I do go out and join the thousands on people on the street (pre-covid times), but that is pretty much it for me.

Let's here your story! Let's keep this an open and safe place :)

I'm super excited about it personally being non-binary & asexual, plus my birthday happens in pride month which makes it extra special for me :)

That's awesome! Happy Pride Month to you and a happy early birthday!!!

As a Bisexual Transmale I think that pride Month is an absolutely necessary and important event to respect the history of those who came before and will come after. We are people too. We are history. And we deserve to be recognized.

Great to see that we have such a diverse community here already. I think pride month is a good thing to bring more awareness to the world. It's such a shame that we still have countries around the world where you might be imprisoned or even killed for simply being part of the LGBTQ+ community.

I know some people don't like companies getting involved in this (like changing their logos) because they think its all PR but honestly, it's nice to see them do it. We're at a period of time where companies can freely do that without being scared of what might happen to them and that means we're slowly moving in a good direction.

You're damned if you do, and damned if you don't. I personally would rather be on the side of supporting people, rather than preventing basic human rights and freedoms.

That's just me though, I think it makes the most sense this way.
