This was something I wanted to do at the start of the Coronavirus pandemic but just kind of forgot/lost interest. Looking to start properly now and I've started using Duolingo.

Obviously, that app isn't going to be enough. Does anyone have any tips for learning Spanish? And are there any other great resources out there?

No tips other than you may have to apply to take a class. There are several courses here in the US that people take. I don't know if they offer courses in the UK though. I know my mother took a few when she went back to college and knows a little Spanish.

Yeah, I'll have to have a look later on. I'm sure they do offer courses but chances are they are all virtual one with all this COVID stuff happening.
Check this site out https://brilliant.org/

It offers everything that you need
I don't think they do languages unless they've hidden the information that they do.

Te puedo enseñar cuando gustes Ash! :D

The best way to learn a language is to immerse yourself in the culture, with the people. Practice is very vital. What helped me learn is to make it fun. I taught myself sign language years ago & had bought workbooks to practice in.
Definitely. I think Duolingo has helped with making it fun quite a bit. The gamification aspect of it makes it interesting to learn new phrases and words.
I can teach you when you like Ash! :D
Si. Por Favor

At the moment, I can say that, "Hola", "Yo soy un hombre", and "Tu eres un hombre"

And a few other random words like "Manzana" and "Leche"

I always thought that learning a new language takes a lot of learning vocabulary and basic grammar.
