I used to be personally very pessimistic when I've been suicidal, but now not anymore. Life is too beautiful and precious to be wasted. Mindfulness is just to remind yourself that your goal in life is to be happy and enjoy it fully and wholly, which I'm doing currently at the moment. Don't worry about the future or the past, just live this present moment fully and wholly, that's it, that's all. How about you? Are you more pessimistic or optimistic in life personally?

that your goal in life is to be happy and enjoy it fully and wholly
As a Christian, I don't think that's my goal in life. Most Christians I've talked to told me that our goal in life is to bring glory to God and to do His Will, and that will involve suffering.

I'm a bit of both. Some days I'm very optimistic and on my bad days I'm pessimistic. It kind of just depends on me really.

There's a quote I had found awhile back:
The pessimist complains about the wind; the optimist expects it to change; the realist adjusts the sails.- William Arthur Ward

Honestly, I’m a bit of all 3, depending on the situation. I am more of a realist though. If something doesn’t work, I try a different tactic. I never liked the status quo. We can't change others; we can only change ourselves.

Since a lot of people don’t really think of a realistic outcome, what’s best is hoping for the best and preparing for the worst.

One thing I know that is very common about being pessimistic is that you will never be happy with yourself and anything you are involved with will always seem as if you're wasting your time. This is why I don't give out my attention in being pessimistic because it is never going to be helpful.

I am optimistic most of the time. I live in the moment. I do plan for the future but once I did the planning, I don't worry about what happens tomorrow.

I'm always optimistic that things would turn out right for me and most times it does. So . I'm always big on optimistism
