Welp, we found out my printer won't work with Windows 11...my husband tried to get his laptop to print using my old Canon (I love my printer) and he got a message saying not supported. I'll see how long I can hang onto Win 10.

Anyone else have a problem with their printer and Win 11?

There should be workarounds for that!

I've never had that issue, thankfully, but there are typically fixes

Maybe the drivers haven’t been compatible with Windows 11?

Also, what’s telling you it’s not supported? The installer for the driver or what? What’s telling you the error can help diagnose the problem, because the error by itself is vague.

I'm not sure what my husband was doing...it's his work laptop so I can't touch it.

Yeah, there’s a huge list of things that could be the culprit, and Windows 11 may or may not be the problem. I know when people get a new computer with a new version of Windows, they immediately blame it on the new Windows.

Another thing to note, is that printers are inherently terrible devices. Just Google how much IT guys hate printers, and you’ll have a lifetime of stories. They’re the most temperamental devices.

I’ve gone through so many printers. I’ll need one, so I’ll go buy one at Walmart. A crappy HP one probably. I set it up and it probably works correctly the first couple times, but eventually I’m fighting with it. Like my computer won’t recognize it, or the printer won’t stay connected to the internet. It never fails. I just run to my work to get something printed, if need be.

Tbh, those office multi-function network printers are even worse than the ones people have at home. You think people wouldn't have issues connecting to it when everything is hard-wired to the network? LOL! you thought wrong!

I managed the printer server, and you can have 4 of the same exact printer, and have different drivers configured on each one because different functions magically stop working and you play a guessing game on which driver will make it work. Why? Nobody knows.
