After hearing this famous song by Micheal Jackson " heal the world " , and recalling the fact , that he is no longer in the world , I was faced with this question ; whose fame lasts longer , a musician or a footballer .

To answer from my point of view , before reading yours , I will say a musician's fame last longer .

Consider , many talents shows were kids , will come and sing songs from old musicians ,or those musicians that are no longer in the world .
The song reminds those , who know the musicians of the musicians , and helps those who are not aware of the musician to know him or her .
Secondly , a music hardly die , whenever a song is played , it rekindles the love for the song , and makes the musician fresh in our mind , but this is not the case with footballers .

Most footballers are famous , during their career time , and less famous when they retire . it is only when reading history or watching videos , will you get to know about them .

Radios and television , always reminds of musicians , almost everyday when they play their songs , but this is not the case with football.

What is your own side of view between these two lifestyles?

Footballers fame only really lasts within football fan circles whereas musicians tend to be famous worldwide.

So it's pretty much a given musicians will have fame longer.

Reruns of matches are rare, replays of songs are constant. Plus a musician's career can last well into old age. Not so for footballers.

I would say that the fame of a musician lasts longer than a footballer for the main reason that a music career is generally longer. The professional career of an adult football tends to range between 15 and 20 years whereas certain musicians and bands can make albums for decades and decades.

Definitely musicians. Bands and singers will last probably forever. Look at Buddy Holly, J.P. “The Big Bopper” Richardson and Ritchie Valens from way way back in the 50's. People still talk about them and listen to their music. Elvis Presley, women still like Elvis's music.

To me, Football players are easily forgotten. If you're not Michael Jordon, Dennis Rodman or Shaquel O'Neil, I don't think anyone cares and those guys weren't even football players.

Depends on the individual. Pele, Maradona, George Best. People will remember them much longer than they'll remember who won X Factor in 2009.
(Had to Google it: Joe McElderry.)

Musicians definitely leave a longer impact on the world than any athlete. Their music can often be ways that help people cope during difficult times, and more people can relate to music more than sports I think. Most athletes become lesser known after they retire, most don't end up doing anything but maybe star in a few commercials.

Maradona is as famous as the Beatles. Anyway, as much as i love music more than any sports, the impact on people in sports is the same, everyone knows who Michael Jordan is too!

The fame of a musician lasts longer than a footballer, a music career is generally longer. The professional career of an artist can span through a decade but not same for a footballer

I tend to think that musicians fame last longer because the career of a musician is longer than the footballer. Also, people may listen to their music for decades.
