Tips before getting a first tattoo?

What are some tips before getting a first tattoo?

Pick out something you like. Hold on to the picture you want as a tat for 4 months. After the 4 months have passed and you still feel like getting that as a tattoo, go ahead.

Haven't got mine as yet but what Terminated mentioned is very important. Don't rush into your first tattoo because you may end up regretting it. I've been planning mine for more than a year now so I'm almost ready.

While mine aren't that bad. I still regret getting them. I went and saw a laser specialist. They said they couldn't fully remove one of my tattoos because I got blue ink and that they couldn't remove it without scarring me. I went home and talked to my girlfriend, talked to my mom, talked to my grandma, and I got everyone's opinions. They said it wasn't worth it. So I ended up opting out and not having it done.

Go to a reputable artist and pay the proper amount. Cheap parlors are inexpensive for a reason. Also, trust your artist if they say the thing you pick needs more work or a redesign. These people do this for a living and generally don’t want to tattoo something on you that looks off. Ask their opinion.

lol you totally reminded me of this movie.

LMAO. Love this part: When Scottie P. claims that he lives by the tattoo’s message and that he doesn’t have any regrets of his own, David asks, “No regrets? Not any? Not even one? Not even a single letter?”

I don't have any tattoos so unfortunately, I can't give any advice. I have heard that once you get a tattoo it's hard to only have one.

Tattoos I feel should be planned and should be something meaningful and not something you will regret a few weeks, months or years down the line.

If someone were to get a tattoo and they asked me for advice before getting it, I would tell them to be sure that the tattoo they are going for has a meaning and it is something the permanently want on their skin.
