Anyone supplement their diets, with Whey Protein Shakes, drinks or mixes? If so, what brand do you go after, how much protein is in it, and what else is in it?

I've been using NOW Sports for the past 3-4 months, and have enjoyed the flavoring of it, more-so compared to the Muscle Milk brand. Granted there are a few differences between the two in amino acid lists and protein levels. But overall, I enjoy the flavor more.

I don't but my brother does. He uses MET-Rx:

About this item

  • One 5 pound container of MET-Rx Natural Whey Protein Powder, Chocolate Flavored
  • This chocolate whey protein powder has no artificial flavors, colors, or sweeteners, and is non-GMO
  • Ultra-filtered protein powder supports lean muscle and strength (1)
  • Easy to mix protein supplement powder is ideal for protein drinks like protein shakes and smoothies, and baked goods
  • MET-Rx protein powder contains 25 grams of protein per serving and 12 Vitamins and Minerals

I used protein drinks that were pre-mixed after my surgeries because protein helps repair damage to the body. Besides that, I was on a liquid and then soft food diet for a month and that helped curb my appetite. I couldn't get used to the flavor though because they all had a chemical taste to them.

Yeah, sadly a very large majority of the premixed brands do not taste that good, due to shelf life expectancy. Most brands I know try to extend the shelf life as much as possible, so that they don't go bad at the store (if the item doesn't sell particularly quickly), and if the person who bought it ends up not drinking it right away. Pretty hard to find a pre mixed protein shake, that taste good, and doesn't have a dozen preservatives or more for shelf life.

Likewise. My brother is big about his health and works out at the gym on a daily basis. He's invited me in the past on several occasions and I've always told him that I wasn't interested.
