I do not have much experience with forums. I tried my hands on a forum in 2019 but my first forum was live only for three months. My second forum lived a little longer, it was live for over a year but had just 15 members. I am running my third forum for 4 months. The forum has over a dozen active members, but sadly these are paid posters, they post as long as I pay. I earn through A-Ads.

I've never gotten paid to post so I can't really comment.

Forums are hard to maintain. My forum is on Proboards & we have an unspoken "I join yours, you join mine". So I acquired several Proboards members at the beginning. However, it's similar to Post Exchanges, where if you don't post on theirs, they won't on yours. I've done Packages as well as Post Exchanges to help increase activity. Getting members is easy to do, keeping ACTIVE members is another story. Everybody is on everybody else’s forum & that can cause a lot of burn-out. I never paid for posts. I don’t like my real name & account number out there but I can see how it can be appealing to help get activity. Many people do it!

We all learn and make mistakes and we fail and do active things. I'm pretty lucky to have my major first forum to be 7 years old. And never really started anything else. But having active members is not easy and I had paid posted down to doing a post for post exchanges. The downside with doing paid or exchanges is that once you stop or the site becomes inactive until you restart again and can't get members willing to just post and be active.

I have done paid content on other forums myself to earn some money, When I complete the posting, I always stop being active on their site LOL we all do it you know. However, I'm active posting on a site that I get paid each to post and have been doing it for two years now and still renewing it.

It takes a long time to build up a community enough that you can step away for a day and not worry about keeping things flowing.

With Christianity Haven I have found that in some of the deeper conversations about religion that members prefer I butt out since I have that Admin tag next to my name. They want me to post nice messages to them but they don't want me to tell them that they're wrong in any capacity. It's hard for me to stay out of those discussions, but I'm finding that more people get involved in them if I stay out. Weird.

With Crafter Craze, I don't have members coming in daily and that means it will go for a week without someone posting unless I make posts, and some days I don't have the creative juices to do that.
