At what point did you realize you were an adult?

The first time I purchased alcohol for a family member and didn't get carded :(

Yikes...I did that for my underage soon-to-be sister-in-law when we were all younger. I felt like a criminal...because I was. I didn't feel like an adult.
Oh they weren't underage, just lazy :D
When my daughter was born. Reality slapped me in the face and I knew I needed to start growing up.
Yeah, that's one way to kick adulthood into overdrive. Here's this living breathing thing you're now 100% responsible for keeping in good shape. No instruction manual.

When my back started hurting every morning when I wake up.
I get this now but I am 37 and suffer from fibromyalgia. I will admit though, that is one way to know that your body is starting to get old and it sucks when that starts.

For me, it was when I started to get more tired and started to struggle to stay up past midnight. I used to be able to pull all-nighters and now, I am lucky if I see 3 am and if I do, it is because I can't sleep even though I am tired.

I realized that I was an adult when my biological father died. I need to step up to take good care of his family. Before he died, I whispered to his ear that he did not need to worry about us. I will take charge.
