Car Insurance

I pay 100 a month, 635 dollars, for 6 months out of the year to PROGRESSIVE for full coverage.

Too much, it's around £900 a year for my simple family car. Car insurance in the UK is not cheap and also for £900 is a simple pancake without any other deals.

Way too much. £180 per month and that's with a bloody black box as well. It is my first year though (passing the test) and the car is not crap so it was always going to be high. Can't wait for the price to drop when I renew in December. Can't wait to get rid of the stupid black box as well.

Ouch! Glad those days are long gone for me.. ?

Last year I paid just shy of £500 across 12 months, this year they're wanting about another £20. I ran a comparison yesterday though and I can get it quite a bit less, so I'll probably give them a call later today..

I have been driving for 14 years now though, with no claims.. at one point I'm sure my premium went down to about £350 per year, but I wonder if that's because my ex wife was also on the policy (even though I'd been driving longer than her).

Not familiar with the term black box here in the U.S. May I ask what the black box is used for?

I just got off the phone to them and saved myself quite a bit of money (and now I feel epic) ?

Just over £375 for the year paid in monthly installments.

It's basically a monitoring device, similar to aircrafts.

It's largely beneficial to inexperienced drivers to bring down their premium.

Amazing. What would the cost be if you paid for the whole year at once? I would love for my insurance to one day cost that but it may take a while :(

Basically what Oblivion mentioned. It helps keep your insurance a bit lower because they track how you drive and make sure you aren't racing/driving like a lunatic. Quite annoying but the difference in cost is huge. My insurance would be almost double without it

Roughly $118/mo, I think. It used to be $80/mo till I got my new ride.

I think it was about another £40-£50 off.. Not worth it so close to Christmas ?
