When you're trying to make a transaction at a store, do you prefer to pay with a credit or debit card? Why? I just use Visa Debit because it's easy to keep track of my spending by quickly browsing through the history, on internet banking.

I do most of my shopping online using my debit card and when it comes to offline shopping small shops are dealt with cash.

I honestly cannot remember the last time that I used cash. I don't even have any cash in the house anymore so can't tip the delivery drivers. I always use my contactless debit card even when travelling on public transport. Much easier than topping up my travel card.

I normally have cash on hand just because you never know.

Except I have fallen in love with Apple Pay. I don't even have to touch my wallet anymore for "average" purchases. (y)

I use Apple Pay. I take my phone with me everywhere and it's the last thing that I am going to lose, so security wise, it is a much better option. It also takes literally a second to scan. Welcome to the future.

How the world is like now with stores closed and lockdown most people are buying online nowadays and new people buying online with there card. Cash is finding out, people pay by cards in-store and at times it's just as slower than cash.

Be I use Paypal that's linked to my bank to buy online items and then when I'm out I use cash, then again with other family members I get then to pay for most things then I pay my way each month for day to day living.

I prefer to use card at all times.

Pre-2016, we always used cash and card money was something we have no idea how to use. Later, in 2016 demonetization happened and the entire paper cash lost its value forcing people to turn towards digital payments.

Now, the country has started using both paper and card money, but most people prefer to use card money. Thats my case too.

I pay by card more often, but I like the control and discipline and awareness that cash gives me.

So basically I prefer cash, but often use card.

I always pay by card and I dont ever carry cash.

Digital transactions are here to stay and cash will eventually be phased out IMO.
I think cash will always play a part in societal transactions, however they may be few and far between. When the power goes out, you can’t use your card to pay for things ;).

I do use my debit card for online payment since physical cash can't be used , but as for offline payment , I always use cash in order to avoid the transaction fee that comes with debit card use .

Yeah I that too. I used to have a wallet with a change pocket but lost it. Now I have one without, only a pocket for notes so I just tend to use cash in general. Cards are the way forward.

I completely agree with you. Most retailers now don't like customers paying by cash due to the coronavirus outbreak. Some have even gone as far as banning their customers from paying with coins and notes.
