I clean my mousepad and mouse regularly, since it's my most valuable peripheral device.
I don't even have my desktop plugged in. Always on laptop/phone. Does the trackpad on my laptop count? 
Still, can't say I've cleaned it.... Like ever. Guess I should think about doing that.

I tend to clean my area once a week and use an antibacterial wipe over my area and my mouse to ensure they are clean. I am very glad we don't have the ball mouses anymore, they were always a pain to clean.
