What are your thoughts? What are your likes/dislikes? What would bring you back even more frequently than you currently are? On the team here right now we have @Ash who takes care of the technical side in the back of house, while I am predominantly in the front of house trying to bring you guys fresh and interesting threads to participate in, and completely the minor moderating duties that come up here and there.
Ash and I have been working on adding more functionality and features to the site to allow you to personalize and make your experience here more comfortable with a feeling of being at home - at least that's our goal and I hope we are achieving that. A few days ago you all started earning coins for your engagement and we are now starting to populate the shop with items you can use to personalize your profile page, have milestones to work towards with community goals/badges, We will start running "fun" events and contests in the coming weeks where prizes will come in the form of DH Coins and bragging rights like no other ! I understand that we are still new, but whoa boy...we are just getting started.
Let's be real, most of you are Administrators and Webmasters of your own forum/community/blog/what have you. Do you regular visit other forums for pleasure, or mostly only for "business"? What are some key characteristics you look for that determine "now that's a site that I should check out on a regular basis? What types of messages and communications do you like to see when visiting vs which do you prefer be avoided? There are so many questions and I am not "directly probing" for answers, however I did want to instill the thought in each of your minds - a little bit of personal reflection if you will.
I personally check in on 5 forums regularly. After getting out of the "forum game" back in 2013, I was going stir crazy and needed to find a new release while at home. What could I get into and pick up that is relatively cheap, and can be built to last and turned into an official hobby. I met Ash on FP and at first I was a little hesitant on joining up with a start up site, but then again forums have drastically dropped in popularity with the explosion of social media the past few years. So I accepted the challenge and here we are.
What would it take for you to suggest/recommend this site to 3 people each? How does one achieve that "WOW" factor with you...I am dying to know .
Looking forward to the replies! Thanks for reading my novel
