When it comes to seeing a movie at the theater. Do you ever check the ratings or read the reviews to see if the movie is good or bad before seeing it?

I mostly do because I want to avoid seeing a bad film. I work a lot. I don't have that much free time. The reviews are mostly right because if the critics say its bad and I go see it and find myself agreeing with said critics. That's 2 hours to sit through a bad film. I don't care so much for the money I wasted on it but the time I could have spent seeing something way better. I don't know if anyone can relate to what I'm saying.

Serious critics are good. Fanboyism is bad, some people hate a movie because of its popularity.

Happened to the Suicide Squad movie, i won't say it's legendary but it isn't that bad but since dudes hate Jared Leto's Joker it became instantly a horrid movie.

Many critics have a very bad habit of giving away the plot or key details about movie or characters in movies. Which kind of spoils the surprise factor and the feel that you get if you watch it first hand with no a prior expectations.

I try to avoid watching trailers, or reading reviews by critics. But rating of movies, like from IMDB, or rotten tomatoes, or just the headlines of critic’s reviews can make you interested in a movie.

A lot of time you are already familiar with prior works of director or actor, and you have some expectations in place, that the movie will be worth a watch or not.

What are you saying dude? I'm an avid film goer and one of the least bias critics of films there is. I hated the film. There was so much potential; but, the movie was all over the place. Jared Leto's Joker was a disappointment, yes; but, he was far from the be all, end all of the film. There were plenty of other issues that accomplished that.

I hate going off of ratings. Critics any more are politically biased and will rate a film based on the person's personal beliefs and not the quality of their work. I miss the older critics who would go into a film with an open mind, watch the film, take notes and come out and give a review that criticized the work and the actors but kept the latter to the subject of their work as it regarded to the creative enterprise that was the film.

When it comes to films, I always watch the trailer and read the fine details about the film. Then I see the star ratings if there are any, most new films you won't but you do get stars ratings from real tech and books from empire magazine that will see reviews.

I do not want to read what people say or reviews that people write that tells you everything about the film then no point watching it LOL

Yes, I do check the ratings and reviews before going to see a particular movie. Who acts in the film also matters to me.

I check ratings only if I am not confident in the movie but if the starcast involves my favorite stars and have heard good things about the movie then movie ratings does not matter.
