Do you get brain freeze from cold foods?

I experienced a brainfreeze just this weekend. My mother-in-law bought my daughter a creme Frappuccino from Starbucks and I was trying to quickly drink most of it so that she wouldn't have as much sugar and it resulted in a brain freeze. I usually stick my thumb to the roof of my mouth to try and warm it up. It's an unpleasant sensation for sure lol

Only happened to me a few times but I remember the brain freeze pain is intense.

I get it quite often, and it is truly horrible.

Are people more or les susceptible to this and why I wonder, because I watch other people really quickly eating or drinking the same things that do it to me, with absolutely no effect at all.

There's actually a trick I know to avoid brain freeze. You just avoid the cold stuff touching the roof of your mouth. there's a bundle of nerves there responsible for brain freeze that don't like to get cold.
