Do you have social media accounts for your websites?

What made you decide to create social media accounts/pages for your forum/blog/website?

How do you leverage these accounts to support and grow your site?

I was a very strong proponent of websites and forums maintaining social media accounts because I thought they will bring more traffic if webmasters network properly.

But off late, I am unsure about this view not because social media isnt a good platform to look for traffic but because I see no webmasters actively involving in it.

Now, I guess I have completely lost it.

Not for my current website, as social media for a general discussion forum is hardly useful but I do intend on creating social media accounts for future projects.

I don't have a social account for my website and i am not interested in creating it. Without social media accounts i want to make my forum popular.

When building a website/forum social media is my first thing to do and to make up. It takes time to even build your social media accounts up and that's why I also use my old social media accounts that I use personally to help build the site social media accounts.

ENd of the day every site should have social media accounts

Maybe you should add Pinterest to. I hear it is good source of traffic. Even this is text based forum, maybe some images can be made from it and posted there. I am still learning how to use it but I read it few times it is good.
Maybe Tumblr to could be good.

Personally, I don't see the need for social media accounts for forums especially general discussion ones. It can be something we consider though of course.

Pinterest is probably not a great social network for general discussion forums. It can work for other types of sites but not ours really.

Pinterest is like some image sharing site? Memes, screenshots, inforgraphics right? I agree screen shots of forum posts would not be good.

Yes, Revillution has a twitter account that we've owned since it's iteration in 2009. It's much more active now! we also have a facebook page, but FB pages messed up so we had to make a new one, so not as many likes/follows than we had on the original page.

I do have a Twitter account on my blog. I have the Twitter account connected to my blog so that every time I write a new article, it gets added to Twitter. It seems like I'm getting more people following my blog now than last year when I started my blog so I think it's helping.

I did have a page for a few of my forums in the past, but currently I don't have a social media page/account for my current project. I do however have a Youtube channel, but it was focused on playing video games rather than the forum itself. (Plus even then I don't know if I want to continue the channel. :V)
