Do you pay for Amazon Prime?

I currently have a free trial for Amazon Prime that ends sometime this month. I just don't use them enough to justify the price for it really. Plus, I have a lot of Amazon lockers near me so delivery is always quick and free even without Prime.

I do have prime. I use the credit card and it features 5% rewards which more than pau for itself annually so I don't mind the price increase. The convenience factor is amazing.

The convenience factor is amazing and agree with you on that.
I use my mothers amazon prime for everything. So does my sister.
It's really nice getting free shipping and shows to watch on amazon prime.
I not sure if I would personally pay it for myself though. Definitely worth it but the price is hard to bear if I had to pay to use it.

I do and it's fantastic, the perks are great, though I have noticed some things you're better off buying elsewhere because they're cheaper. So it's a bit of a tradeoff at times.

Wish my Mom would understand this. She bought a mattress pad on Amazon for $89.99 plus tax. I found the same mattress pad on HSN (Home Shopping Network) for $59.99 plus tax. HSN offered free shipping on orders $49 or more. So, what's the better deal here Amazon or HSN?

It's the trap people fall into, sadly. Walmart used to be the same way, everyone assumed they were the cheapest for everything because they were Walmart, when in actuality their prices had crept up over the years and eventually they were as expensive as everyone else. Amazon is doing the exact same thing, people get lulled in by the fact they have everything and free 2 day shipping (or faster in some cases), and so it must be the go-to place to buy things. The reality is quite different, you can find things cheaper elsewhere and usually end up with free shipping a lot of places, or even curbside pickup for local stores. Shopping around is definitely the smarter move than blindly trusting Amazon's pricing.

100% agree with you. Now to get that message into my Moms head is a whole different ballgame. lol
Best of luck with that :D

Maybe offer suggestions from other places before she hits the purchase button. I understand the need to trust where you shop, but Amazon's such a double-edged sword there. Hopefully she'll understand that eventually :)

I think I'd get further talking to a brick wall.

I think it widely depends on the product in question. For me, Amazon does have the lowest prices for a lot of stuff I buy, and I know the prices of my hobbies. Some of the other online retailers charge a premium, and then will have a sale during one of the holidays and drop it to Amazon’s 24/7 price. This is for the exact same product, and not a similar product.

Yeah, it's absolutely a case by case scenario, they do indeed have the lowest prices on certain things, so it's a great option, but it's definitely not the cheapest for all things, so it's important to comparison shop.

It is a bit insulting to say people are blindly shopping. A lot of people just enjoy the convenience of a one stop shop. A lot of people find it a pain to go and make another account on a website just to buy one or two items to save some money, and would rather just use a site like Amazon where they already have an account.

I’ve been in those situations before.

Yup completely agree with this.
And for the record, Prime gives me same day/next day shipping and every episode of South Park. What else could i ask for?

I meant no insult, though I do stand by my statement. I wasn't implying all people who buy things through Amazon we're blindly trusting them, but there's no doubt a lot of people fall into that trap. Convenience is fine, I shop in Amazon for that very reason, it's a wonderful option to have and I will keep going to them so long as they're viable. I do apologize if my comment caused any offense, that's not my intent.

I don't pay for Amazon Prime that often. I always wait and get a free trial on it so I can watch their shows online and then whenever I've watched everything that I've wanted to watch, I cancel it.
