Does technology distract people?

In a way it does, because like smartphone now a lot of people waste their precious time just browsing and leaving important things offline

It does because you need to focus on a thing to get the maximum output and results but in case you are not focussed then you won't be able to get the best results and mostly the things that make us distracted are through technology like our phones, notifications from apps etc

I think it depends. It is how people manage technology well. They can able to focus on something with their personal goals through the use of technology.
It's a double edged sword. We also use technology to work. If you a drive a car to work, you're using technology. If you're using a computer at a desk job that you have, you're using technology. If you're using lifts and tractors at your job, you're using technology. At Wal-Mart and other grocery stores, they have you using a hand held device to look up products for customers, again technology.

Technology really distracts people. You would see people leaving the things that they would have done to be watching videos on TikTok. And that is a time waster.

I agree with you. In the sense that people are nowadays concentrating on the smartphones on the expense of doing other important jobs offline and more specifically the social issues.
