What is your favorite operating system of all time? What do you like about it? Do you think that operating systems in the future will be better or worse, and in what ways?

Windows 7. It works and lets you do pretty much everything you want. It's also very popular meaning most things work on it. I don't need to be an expert and dig around to get most stuff working.

Probably a combination of Windows 98 and Windows XP. I do like my DOS but having a Windows GUI does make life a bit easier. Windows 3.11 was ok as well, though I was in DOS most of the time anyway. Haha!

what about regards Windows 7 and up toy pick?

As someone that loved 7 it wasn't really much more than a polished Vista at the end of the day (which, itself, ended up getting quite solid through service packs and such).

My favorite OS these days though is Linux. It definitely has its problems, and Linus' linux challenge is really highlighting to me just how much I can overlook some of those super silly problems, but it is getting better at a pretty rapid pace. I don't mind using the terminal from time to time and the flexibility you get from doing so makes it hard to ever consider going back to Windows full time.

My brother has Linux Mint and loves it. Anyone else have it too?

I use Windows 10 for gaming and Linux Mint for work. I also have CentOS running on a VM.

Do you like it better than Windows?
No. In terms of GUI and compatibility Windows.. but Linux always worked better for older hardware.

I still remember for while after 7 came out that people were hating on it because it was basically Vista 2.0 and was wanted Microsoft to make XP 2.0. People already forgot Windows 7 was not liked when it came out. They also already forgot 10 was not liked either.

I liked 7. 8.1 was a good one too. We kept that even after 10 was implemented. I have gotten used to it but I'd go back to 8 in a heartbeat. Plus, we like playing Hidden Objects games via CDs. They are not compatible with this newer version anymore & doesn't look like they are making newer games.

Windows 10. I like new, shiny things so it was always going to be hard to pick an older Windows operating system. 10 runs well, doesn't have any bugs (that I have experienced) and looks good.
