What is your favourite forum software?

I really like IPB because there are many features and some pretty nice themes but I use Mybb because its open-source and easy to costumize it.

It's definitely XenForo right now. Whilst I hate how everything seems to be a paid add-on, the actual software is great out of the box and the themes for it are beautiful too. MyBB is a close second for me especially since I used it for many years for some other projects.

MyBB is probably my favorite forum software, from an Admin/Mod viewpoint. I've used it for a long time now and it's super user-friendly. I've used phBB and SMF on the admin side, but found both to be either limiting or confusing. As a member, MyBB is preferable and I actually really like XenoForo, but like @Ash mentioned, it seems like a lot of the add-ons cost money on top of having to pay for the software itself. Maybe one day I'll switch to it, but we shall see.

XenForo is my favorite and MyBB is the runner up. I like the amazing themes and plugins, although I dislike the cost.

From an admin point of view, I really liked Zetaboards. They were my absolute favorite. But they were merged with Tapatalk and I've heard nothing but bad things about Tapatalk. My other favorite is Forumotion. Both are easy to use from an admin/mod point of view. The admin control panel is easy to use and it's not hard to find your way around.

Free - proboards but unfortunately it's run by some not very nice people who will remove your forum without due cause. As well as insult you and treat you like you're beneath them.

Paid - XenoForo but I've never had the privelege of owning one.

Zetaboards had an awful admin panel. As does Tapatalk. Incredibly complicated just to do simple things.

My forum was on zetaboards and got moved to tapatalk. We were promised tapatalk with zetaboard things. Never did get that.

Tapatalk has it's pros - gold points can be exchanged for cash, avatar hats, easy to navigate, etc but the cons are quite apparent unfortunately. Awful admin panel, limited ability to customise the board. Maximum of three themes - one of which you have no control over and another you require coding for. No add ons. Slow updates. Ever since going to zetaboards and then tapatalk I've lost so many members.

Wish I'd never joined zetaboards tbh. I only joined it as I needed a quick forum to move to after proboards deleted my boards. Zetaboards had changed a lot since I used it as a teen.

In terms of Free i will go with MyBB and in paid i will go with Woltlab. I have started to like the Woltlabl Software and its features. (haven't upgraded the latest though). It is cheap and nice to use.

Currently? I prefer XenForo over most paid forum softwares, as I can't find much in terms of what exactly I want in the other paid softwares, but can find everything I need or want through their addon listings.

MyBB will forever be my BB. It's the best free forum software. Has the best support community. The add-ons are amazing and highly customizable as well.

I don't like the look of it. The Options are okey for a free software.

I haven't used MyBB in years, but they do have custom ACP themes. I had developed the same ACP + User theme, so the design of the two looked the same.

Free, I would say PunBB or MyBB and Paid I would say vBulletin 3.8.11 or Xenforo 2.1.

MyBB FTW! That said, they've fallen behind considerably over the years and need to get their act together.

I use to hate XF, and even more so administrating it. I don't mind using it as a member anymore, I guess I've just gotten used to it.
