Minutes after Laurie Strode (Curtis), her daughter Karen (Judy Greer) and granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak) left masked monster Michael Myers caged and burning in Laurie’s basement, Laurie is rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, believing she finally killed her lifelong tormentor.

But when Michael manages to free himself from Laurie’s trap, his ritual bloodbath resumes. As Laurie fights her pain and prepares to defend herself against him, she inspires all of Haddonfield to rise up against their unstoppable monster.

The Strode women join a group of other survivors of Michael’s first rampage who decide to take matters into their own hands, forming a vigilante mob that sets out to hunt Michael down, once and for all.

Evil dies tonight.

The last movie was okay. The two films before it were terrible. Who knows what this one will be like. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

What do you think of the quote about:

I don't think anything of it. I'm not a fan of the franchise. I've watched all of them.

Since the first two movies. They've been trying to make Michael more of a superstitious entity in the reoccurring films to make him scarier. Giving Michael plot immunity is a tool so the producers can make more sequels. More sequels means making more money in the box office and in DVD / BD sales. It's all about money.

Bro, the same thing could be said about the Terminator franchise. There's only so many ways you can make a robotic apocalypse future. Michael was never confirmed to be mortal or immortal. There's been speculation and arguments about it both ways, a lot lean more toward him having that tenacity and drive like John Wick.

And who cares if he has plot immunity. If the movie is good and people enjoy it, why stop making them?

That can be said for every film franchise.

I never said he was immortal. I stated that the story writers and the producers won't allow a plotline where he can be killed in the story, maybe one of the remakes. There's been opportunities to kill him. But he gets away or they state in the sequels that it wasn't him she killed. That's a big difference the way you worded it back to me. Just because I don't grant favor to a film franchise that you like is not implying that the franchise should burned and destroyed.

I apologize if it was interpreted that way. It's a downside to text sometimes, it lacks the emotion and conviction you get with word of mouth.

Michael's gonna tear through that town like Arnie in Commando.

I'm sure I'll be watching this movie when it comes out. I'm kind of a fan of the franchise so I'll probably see it once in the theater and then I'll make sure to get the dvd when it comes out.

@Phenom However it did feel like they made him immortal from the ending in H4 where the whole Sheriff department filled him full of lead. No one would have been able to come back from that. Like you said though, canonically he's not immortal. Plot wise, he has plot immunity as in they're never going to kill him off.

He's always been kind of immortal throughout the entire series. Over the course of the series, he's been shot, walked away after falling from a second story window, been blown up, set on fire, etc. A normal person would not been able to walk away from any of that.

Why wouldn’t Laurie stay to watch him burn? Why not shoot him while he’s in the basement? She planned thoroughly but didn’t plan that out? This is dumb. Also, the last movie was an excellent ending point and I doubt this will improve the story significantly.

I'd imagine because they all needed medical attention and didn't want to be around when the cops or emergency crews showed up.

From watching the trailer. It just looks like Michael is going on a killing spree.
That's the general plot of most horror movies. It seems like this one might be the true final in the franchise.
