How much do you think you should get paid per hour of work and why?

Well, if you are a bus driver you get paid £13.80 an hour in the UK ;P that's good right?
It's pretty good for rural bus routes with few passengers, scenery, and little stress.

Less good for central London bus routes at school kicking out time, that's a nightmare job.

I am happy with my salary, however I am always letting my employer know that I'm open to taking more responsibility or learning more skills in order to earn more.

I'm happy with my current salary and we get a pay grade raise every year based on our performance review.

I do wish I got paid more, but I value being happy in my job over being promoted and having more stress.

Just got notified on Friday that there will be an opening for a supervisory position at my job March 1st. You have to submit your application to be considered. Even though the salary is more than I'm making now, so are the duties attached to it. Weighing the pros and cons, I've decided not to apply for the position.

It's also worth paying attention to whether small pay raises change your tax bracket, if it does and you are suddenly paying a higher percentage in tax then it can basically completely wipe out the pay increase but you still have the increased responsibility.

We will receive a little raise starting this month, a total of 15% more, not that much but considering the current situation i'll take it :)

How very true. My friend got a pay raise and this is exactly what happened to her. More tax, less pay in her pocket.

Nice, that's good to hear. Isn't 15% really good though?

I get paid a set salary so I'm not paid hourly. It's nothing to rave about since I'm an intern but for someone of my age, it's actually pretty good. The best thing though is that my company has a clear route to the different seniority levels so I'm hoping to jump right into a mid-position once I finish the internship.

That should give me a really good salary boost.
