If public transportation is free, would people still drive their cars?

During the pandemic in my city, the city officials decided to give free rides to locals. Some of those who have private cars took the opportunity and took free rides.

Yes I believe so but thr numbers will be reduced. They are still lot of people that value their comforts over money

I think there are still people who use private cars. Some of them prefer the privacy. Some enjoy driving.
