Hey everyone,

I am curious to see others opinions of this last weeks debate. I was unfortunately working, so I actually watched the entire thing today on YouTube. I found it to be an interesting debate. It was more a game of blaming each other rather than discussing the actual possible solutions. I found myself wondering how we got here as a country, and what it is going to take to get us out of this mess. I personally have my thoughts on that, but I would rather keep them to myself unless this thread goes in that direction. It's a wild time we live in, and I only hope that we can turn around America and get back on track.

What is your thoughts on the debate? Any key take aways from it?
 
I watched it live. It was rough. Like unrealistically rough. As much as I despise Mr. 34 felony counts, I can't exactly vote for someone who belongs in a nursing home. This is when I wish a real third party candidate would rise, but if RFK can't do it, who can?

Yeah.. I don't think Biden should be running to be honest. I think the democrat party could do a lot better. I sadly think the reason they like him is because they can probably persuade him more easily. I think he deserves to hang up the towel and enjoy the rest of his years. I wish we did have some better options overall. Sadly, I don't think independents catch enough traction to make it to the spotlight.

They really put themselves in a corner if they wanted to go with anyone else. Kamala is the obvious name that would be in the mix, but she's very unpopular. Biden should have picked a stronger VP four years ago.

I 100% agree with you on that. She wasn't a very good choice for VP, in my opinion. You don't really hear much about her, and when you do it typically is not good feedback.

It definitely doesn't sound like Biden is dropping out anyway, so man, how could Trump not win this election?
 
Trump aced it in the debate. A Trump victory is looking more likely because Biden didn't do well in the debate. Trump has oratory skills far better than Biden.

It's very likely I think. From what I understand, a lot of people are not in favor of Biden.

I think he did well! But I would of preferred him to actually answer most of the questions. A lot of it was him just trying to drag Biden through the dirt. As much as it is entertaining, I would like to know what he plans on doing with some of our issues in the US.

He maintained his composure. Biden was baiting him to bring out his craziness, but I'd say they prepped Trump not to react to any of that.
 
I didn't watch the debate but analysts said that Trump floored Biden. I don't know why Biden is the only candidate the democrats likely have at this stage. A Trump victory might just be on the cards.

What are your guys thoughts on the most recent events yesterday? Do you think that this kind of seals the deal with Trump? I am curious to read more about it as the investigations continue. But so far their are a lot of interesting posts regarding it. I personally think a lot more people are going to side with Trump after yesterday. I have a lot of thoughts on yesterday, but I think some things are better left unsaid.

Trump is now a living martyr, so yes, this will rally his base. I think it seals the win for him. Guess we'll see what happens with his sentencing, but I think Trump will be beating Biden in the polls by an even wider margin very soon. Biden needs to seriously listen to his fellow Democrats and get out of the race. Give Kamala a chance.

Trump would gather a lot of sympathy events with the recent events. I think Trump now has a huge advantage going into the elections as these recent events have swung the pendulum in his favour.

Trump stood up after getting shot and showed signs of strength. Isn't that who you want to stand up to your enemies, or would you prefer the old, feeble guy with his mouth open at the debate? Vote wisely.

Maybe he isn't fit to finish it, but that's not something that will be seriously debated. They won't do that to Sleepy Joe.

I'm trying to keep an open mind about Kamala.... We'll see.

Well, they forced him out of the race and no one expected that. I think they're weighing on whether having Kamala step in as President now will help or hinder the race in November.
