I typically wouldn’t pay it all up front. I’d take advantage of one of those interest free services that allow you to do a monthly payment plan. I typically upgrade my phone every 2-3 years, and I try to buy the best iPhone available at the time. That means spending like $1200 on a phone.
This, except I get the base model iPhone, and I do it every 3-4 years. I get the base model, because I don’t do anything that necessitates the price difference between the base model and the pro model.I typically wouldn’t pay it all up front. Outside of phone stuff, I just take basic pictures, browse the web, play music in my car, and YouTube/social media apps, so I don’t feel the need to spend a few hundred extra on features I don’t use/need.
If it was a negligible price difference I would, but when it’s a few hundred, then it’s a hard pass for me.I’m sure I don’t take advantage of any of the extra features of the iPhone Pro, but it’s enticing just to have the option to use them.

I have some expensive hobbies, so that few hundred could be better spend on those.
It’s your money, so if you enjoy what you have, then my opinion is irrelevant.Same.
Maybe I’ll be smarter about it this time around. I’ve just really wanted to splurge these last two phones I’ve gotten.
