Money you spent on your forum

I'd say probably about €500 in total so far - I haven't really invested in it much lately, at least posting is concerned, but I have a good bit of cash saved up now so I'll probably go nuts in that regard to celebrate our first birthday
 
In five years, too much. Around $580 just for IPB forum software. With plugins and themes and licence renewable. just think how much that can add up.
 
It would be interesting to calculate how much has been spent on this forum. It may not be as high as some of the answers in this thread but it's not exactly cheap especially with the massive prices of the software and addons

I think it's the add-ons that are doing a damage in my wallet. They are very overpriced some of them but since they are lacking in the main software, it's got to be done!

Definitely. I wanted to get a feature for the site that provided a list of threads that have already been created when the user wants to post a new thread. Similar feature but would cost me $55!

That's madness but the add-on I think you're on about is feature rich and quite handy so I would recommend getting it when you can :).
 
It's the enhanced search one from XenForo. It's okay but I'm not sure the price tag is justified, to be honest especially when the best feature from it is such a simple thing.

You don't need that for such a small board. I'd wait till you have the money and if you really want it then get it. But your site is small atm and you won't benefit much from it.
