PHENOM'S SUMMER OF MOVIES EVENT
(ALL SUMMER LONG!)​

WHAT IS IT?
Each week, Saturday specifically, I will be hosting a movie watch event. This is not an official event of DH and there is no guarantee of an award or prize for participating other than simply being able to enjoy the company of your fellow community members whilst watching great films.

WHEN IS IT?
Each Saturday, starting this upcoming, July 3rd.

GUESSTIMATED SHOW DATES:
  • SAT, JULY 3RD : The Tomorrow War (tentative film, subject to change - leaning toward something more 4th of July themed to celebrate the holiday)
HOW WILL IT WORK EXACTLY?
I will be streaming the event and hosting it online for others to watch. There is no fee or required password. I will more than likely run several 'test' streams to make sure there are no sound quality issues and verify that everyone can access it before beginning the official stream run.

I'm still working things out. I'm going to double check a few things to make sure everything is legal and works out. I'll probably use Netflix's party watch or something similar. But that would require people to have Netflix or a trial they can use.
 
I'm going to try to find a workaround; but, I don't watch to break any laws that would cause issues for myself or DH.
 
I don't have discord nitro and have no intention to get it. Second question, are they movies that you're streaming legally? I think I'm going to do a group watch on Netflix this weekend of the second Fear Street Films. I'll do a stream of the first one and then transition directly into the second one.
 
I have no idea. I'm not doing it to have a massive crowd; but, I'm also trying to keep it within legal boundaries so I don't face repercussions.
 
UPDATE #1

I'm going to aim to host the first summer of movies event next weekend. My plan is to do one of the Fear Street Films each day, playing it several times to give multiple opportunities for those who want to participate.

The rough schedule I have right now is:

  1. Fear Street Part One 1994 - Fri, July 16th
  2. Fear Street Part Two 1978 - Sat, July 17th
  3. Fear Street Part Three 1666 - Sun, July 18th

This should give those who are on the fence a chance to get a Netflix subscription or find a trial to use.
 
Do what you gotta do, just know that I'll probably post up a time schedule when it gets closer.
 
Nope, I don't drink beer. I can order some for you though.
