As you all know, Discussion Hub is a general discussion forum. We created the Promotion Portal section as a way for our members to showcase their projects, get a few clicks, and potentially get some feedback from other users. It was not meant to be the same as a promotion forum where users can come in just with the aim of advertising their site and heading off forever.
We have now implemented a new system for the Promotion Portal that we believe is fair. It will allow regular, active users to still promote their sites and stop users from joining, spamming a few posts, posting their site, and then never appearing again.
To advertise your site/link in the Promotion Portal, you will now need to have at least 300 posts on the forum. It will also cost 200 Hubux to create a new thread in the section.
I've also gone through the section to clean up any old/inactive sites and also remove threads from users that don't meet the above requirements. If you've been a relatively regular member here at DH but don't meet the requirements, any existing threads you posted will not be removed.
Hope you guys understand why we had to implement these changes. And as ever, let us know what you think
