So...Corona.

How has it impacted your life? What are you doing differently now?

For me personally, I am fortunate to work for a company that had the ability to allow me to work from home. I have not lost any income, my employer is even more flexible than ever, and I have even been given 2 awards so far this year for my "innovation and dedication" to the company. I understand that this is not the case for everyone though. Globally people have lost relatives and loved ones, many jobs and even businesses have been lost, not to mention record high unemployment rates in all major countries of the world.

Is 2020 just simply cursed?

2020 definitely feels cursed.

It hasn't had a huge impact on me personally. I had a couple months of uni left for this term which were all cancelled. Now I've basically got time off until September when it starts again.

I am meant to be starting a part time job as part of my course in August as well but I haven't heard from them yet. Hopefully they will still want me there ?

Yeah this year has really put things on hold for a lot of people. What was it that you were studying?

Corona has affected a lot. I am currently studying language in this period. Besides, I got some more time on the computer to learn new stuffs.

Got some more time for friends and family. But jobs have been affected mostly.

I am a senior and I live on my savings. I do not socialise much either as I spend my time tending to my garden, kitchen, pets and write for many Sites.

But my heart bleeds looking at those migrants millions of them who were not given time to return to their homes as the borders were sealed. They are now homeless, jobless, moneyless.

Today is the 77th day that I can't step on my home. I was stuck up in my place of work due to lockdown. I still go to work because I belong to the agency that monitors the local governments so we are considered frontliners. The good thing, my children are with me in this place.

How that must be difficult. I don't know what I would do if I couldn't go home for so long! Someone "might" get hurt...

(Totally joking btw)

Computer Science. Although I hate half of the stuff we have to learn about.

Sorry to hear that. It must be awful but at least your kids are with you ❤
The people around the world that have been working on the frontline have been very important and we owe them a lot.

Thank you Ash. My children happen to be working in this place too and we are renting a house here. Perhaps next week we can already visit our home because my daughter needs to get her teacher's license and other documents because she is applying for online teaching. As of now, the rules are not anymore as strict as the previous months.

  1. Seeing less friends and family due to social distancing restrictions
  2. Since March, restaurants and cafes have been closed and I have not eaten out for months. Subsequently, there has been a lot of time for me to cook new food recipes and enhance my cooking skills.
  3. My savings return has dropped since Bank of England announced an interest rate shrink.

Did anyone think the world would still be slowed down still, 5 months later? With no end in sight and professionals saying we have to learn to adapt and live with the virus...so much will change.

The situation is critical. Our country lacks of everything in the health care department, also our external debt has increased dramatically.. I don't really know what's gonna happen..

I've been able to go to work still. The thing that really changed is the fact that I have to wear a mask all the time when I have to go out in public for something.

For me the main thing that has changed is I now get to work from home everyday. I do go into the office every once and a blue for things I cant do from home but overall I am home.

Seriously, the year 2020 was one to be quickly forgotten because it messed up everything for almost everyone. I can't see one person who wasn't affected by the pandemic of coronavirus. I lost my job but I got another one now.

Even though I did not lose my job during the pandemic, I was greatly affected financially. However, I am still lucky that I can be paid while under the spell of the Corona virus. Now, we need to face the challenges and let the chaotic situation be left behind.
