It's definitely still around. People just aren't as hyped about it with this Ukrainian/Russia war taking over headlines. Now it's going to be about gas prices and stock markets - basically topics that will grab people's attention because that's what it's about right? Selling papers and stories/subscriptions?

The war took over it seems. It's funny because there were a lot of controversies surrounding the government recently about parties during the lockdown and their friends/family getting contrasts. All of that has been forgotten for the moment.

It's still here, i know a few people that are struggling with it atm. I feel that the facemask must go though.. maybe i'm being a little bit cocky?

Still killing, though the cases are coming down, omicron seems to have hit saturation.
A lot of the vaccinated people have just stop caring seeing the death rates are flu like for them.

The unvaccinated have thought that was the case for them since the beginning, and after hundreds of thousands of them died, the survivors have immunity along with whatever unknown effects long covid gives them.

So true, Boris Johnson might just be saved by Russia invading Ukraine.

It's around us still, even if it's dead and people are now living as they should be doing. The fact to the point that people are still getting positive for COVID and people are still getting their tests and their boosters done.

Going to be with us for our lifetime now :p

If you're in the UK - COVID is pretty much no longer a thing, or so they'd have us believe.. ?

Yet I read just a day or two ago that infections are now at their highest rate than they have been since the start of the pandemic, and I know of quite a few people that have contracted it recently (myself included).

@Kylie, a lot of corporate business's are ending "work from home" and making people come in or look for another job. I think there are a lot of people who are sick of it, want to shelve it, and get on with their lives. That's understandable.

Everyone's worry has shifted from the Covid situation to gas prices and the whole Russia invading Ukraine thing. It's easier to focus on other things than deal with a pandemic.

Yeah since the war started Covid news has definitely been pushed aside. I haven't heard anything about cases rising in my state. I'm sure it's still here (it is a virus after all) and it'll be here for a long time I suspect.

I wonder how they are dealing with COVID in the war? It must be very difficult for everyone in Ukraine. Vladimir Putin is the world's next Adolf Hitler.
