What kind of disaster

What kind of disaster have you experienced and how did you respond?
There were such a bizarre instance of a UNADVISED "sub contractor" for paratransit that I rung my mom and told her that who's is that? And if I should be phone the police because I am concerned about the safely?

She immediately called the STUPID transit service and they dissed her to the ground before saying "we got a sole contractor". So I stand my grounds checking the window often until they left and we called off college for that day that I was supposed to be there for.

IMAGINE if that was someone with processing disorders or something, is that really how you should be handling these NEVERMIND not telling anybody about it??

My ex-wife, our kids, and I survived Hurricane Michael in Florida. We went to her mother's house and sat tight while it ripped through town. The house we were renting got part of the roof ripped off and the inside was soaked. We lost a lot of our stuff. To make matters worse. The gangs were trying to scavenge the neighborhood and there were shoot outs around town. It was only after we lost our jobs because a lot of the buildings and business's were trashed that I decided we needed to move back to Missouri after that.

I live in a private lake community. The only way in or out of the community is to take a mountain road. We got hit with a huge ice storm that took down power lines and snapped poles. Because the power restoration trucks couldn't make it up the mountain road, we were without power for 15 days. No one, including myself, had a generator. Worst 15 days I've ever spent.....

You have one now though right? If not there are two strokes models that are like 200 or so bucks. Won't keep the A/C going but at least you will be much better off even with a 600 watts or so model.

Yes. My father had a Generac whole house generator installed. Not sure how many watts it is but it does power the whole house. Never have to worry about another lengthy power outage again.

I glad he taken the steps needed to take care of you and everyone else who might be in the house. Provided it kept maintained, tested regularly and the fuel rotated frequently enough it should be ready for prime time when and should it be needed again.

None that I recall. Course I live in tornado valley now, so who knows!

I had a road accident a few years ago which put me in bed for almost six months I am out of it and feel I have a new lease of life Every moment is now precious for me.
Surviving a bad accident can certainly be humbling. I'm glad you are okay! :)
