When 9/11 happened

Where were you and what were you doing when 9/11 happened?

I was at my job that I had at the time. When people were on their breaks and stuff, they were all glued to the tv in the break room. They were also calling their loved ones on the phone and telling them to fill up their vehicles and get as much gas as they could.

I was in the 7th grade when it all went down. I was in math class. The teacher got a call and was very quiet. She turned the tv on and we saw the buildings on fire and there was footage of the planes hitting. Everyone was in shock and disbelief. People kept asking the teacher if it was a hoax and some of the students were getting more and more upset. We got out of school for a few days. My dad and his wife took me to his church that night and everyone prayed for the people who died. Then there was a thing on tv where the singers came on and sang about it.

Getting a root canal. Took longer than it should have because both me and the dentist were watching the TV. Was booking a follow up when the first tower fell.

I am at home and felt terrible when watching about it before. I am pretty sure the people who were in those tower buildings were so terrified.

I had just dropped my daughter off at school and got home and my mom called to tell me to turn on the news. We watched in silence as they second airplane hit and then watched as the towers fell. It was awful. I got off the phone with her and told my husband to come home since I thought maybe Chicago would be next.

I was five years old when 9/11 happened. I don't remember a whole lot. I was in kindergarten that year, but my brother and I both skipped school that day and stayed home with our mother. I don't remember anything else about that day beyond that, but I remember attending a couple of memorial events that they had in our area later that week.

It was just getting glued to the TV for days on end. It was heartwrenching to read stories how families and pets were separate never to be united again.

I just got back home and turn on CNN. It was quite shocking. Couldn't believe it was true.
