Which type of driver distraction occurs most frequently?

I see people texting and driving even though it's illegal and they're a danger to themselves and everyone around them. Even talking on the phone while driving I see people doing odd things.

The most common is people texting or talking on their phones when they drive. It's a major problem. I think a lot of states are mandating that if a cops sees you doing it while driving, they're pulling you over and writing you up.

Drivers on their phones would be the most obvious one. Lately, I've been seeing a lot of people wearing earbuds/headphones while driving, and I can't imagine that's safe. Especially when their noise cancellation. How can you hear around you?

It is obviously the phone that would distract a driver the most. It gets more dangerous if it is a call that would bring about a business deal. They would want to pick the call as it came in and that could be fatal.

It should be for drivers receiving calls. I have heard about a lit of accident happening because the driver was receiving a call.

The greatest distraction that a driver would have on the road is his mobile phone. There is an instinctive behaviour that always prompts us to react anytime our phone beeps. That's what distracts the driver. Better to silence your phone when you are on the road.
