Why Did You Choose Your Avatar?

I have been doing forums since they were simple chat rooms and the one thing I am always interested in is the Avatars that people choose.
Simply put, just like some usernames, they tell a story about the person employing whatever picture or name they have chosen.

Personally, in the past I have used a bodybuilder because I’m a bodybuilder. I have used “The Thinker” because I am not a very knee jerk type of person and I like to put some thought into what I write and do.
This time however, I display a lighthouse because well, I just like lighthouses. I like what they do, I like how they’re built and quite frankly, I wish I was a lighthouse attendant and be able to just stare out at the sea every night and help keep ships from coming to a rocky death.

All that said, why did you choose yours?
 
I am a Wildlife Conservation Officer employed with the New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife. Monkeys are a species of wildlife that I've always enjoyed watching. I find them to be funny and highly intelligent. Plus, I love bananas. :)

Ah, yeah, the overzealous or inexperienced hunters, they can't be fun to deal with at all!

The monkey has a rather stoic “if it happens it happens” look.
 
Raven is my favorite DC super hero, my avatar is my favorite version of the character. It's taken from the 2003 Teen Titans animated series, from the episode "Bunny Raven... Or How to Train a Titananimal".
 
I chose my avatar because it resonates with my creative spirit and love for quiet moments.

I’m a night owl. The quiet hours, when the world sleeps and creativity dances freely, are my sanctuary. The cool color palette—blues and purples—mirrors my preference for tranquil environments that allow me to focus on my work. The person’s posture—hands clasped, lost in thought—reflects my introspective nature. I often find inspiration in quiet contemplation.

My avatar has a history and is the reminder of a promise to myself.
Back in time (around 2006) I when to visit my country(Cuba) I was impacted to see how many
people was in need for basic things and the lack of opportunities to progress in life.
It did hit so hard on me, that I got depressed from that, for my lack of resources to help many people
specially my own family.
My avatar is a picture taken in front of the Hotel I stayed the day I returned back to US. Me saying:
"I got this, I got to do something to make so much money to help as many people as I can, specially those with the lack of opportunities"
And that's what my avatar represents to me. It's not just a random picture, it's the reminder of my promise to help as many people as I can. And that has been my motto since then.
I believe this is the first time I fully tell the meaning of my Avatar.
