I used to work offline and only had a limited amount of time for personal errands and eating, so I didn't have time to go to a pleasant, peaceful restaurant for a wonderful lunch. I normally prepare a lunch from home.
Why do you think individuals purchase fast food when they are aware of its detrimental effects on their health?

For the reason that anything and everything you do will kill you anyway. There are people, like Andy Whitfield, that led very healthy life styles and died anyway. In Andy's case, it was a severe case of cancer. I always maintain that one will die eventually, just depends on when and why. Russel Crowe said it best in Gladiator.
It is the same as asking why people smoke, drink and get into drugs. It is a man's weakness when the tongue over powers the mind there is nothing one can do.
Because (Americans) are addicted to shitty food and the FDA doesn't do anything, so all our food has crap in it.
I used to do this for myself while working offline. Now, I just do it for my niece who goes to school on weekdays.
