What is the worst problem on the Internet in this day and age? Why do you think that it is?

I think that the worst problem on the Internet is the "centralization" of it. Most of the activity on the Internet is concentrated on a handful of sites, giving those sites a ton of power.

Well, that seems to be the case with everything. Well, on the net it would be social media sites taking power from forums and blogs to a certain extent, maybe a large one.

Anonymity.

We have the ability to interact with people across the globe, but it often lacks a personal touch. We can cease to look at those people as people, which allows us to behave in heinous ways, saying things we would never say when we’re face to face because… because it would be rude and awful, and we’d get our asses kicked. Yet somehow we justify it to ourselves when it’s the written word and a computer screen. We lose our humanity in those moments.

Actually, it seems rather cowardly.

Others have brought up issues we have. Centralization. Google & Facebook rule, which means they can make their own rules.
Being anonymous. It’s great in a way because sometimes we may say something to a stranger when we can’t open up face to face. Flipside is it can go too far. People DO hide behind their screens.
Censorship. Similar to the thin-skin people. People cannot “agree to disagree” without being berated anymore. The internet has brought the world together however it has, IMO, made us less human. We don’t see the hurt we cause so we become immune to what we are doing, saying. We become desensitized. We stop being Human BEings.

My problem is the sanitization of the internet. People have thin skin these days, so I miss calling someone an idiot for saying something stupid without getting banned.
It would depend on the crowd.
