Sticky Chit Chat Lounge

Good morning guys. Up early today cos I didn't get much sleep last night, bit of a long post imbound but I'm still so weirded out by the whole thing:

At about 12am last night while I was playing NS2, I heard what sounded like a heavy dragging going across my roof (my room is a converted garage so it's single story), said it to my sister and should propsed it could have just been a cat that sounded louder since I had my windows open, happens from time to time so I didnt think much of it.

About 30 mins after talking to her I went out the back garden for a smoke and my dogs came with me as they usually would. It was fine for a moment or two but all of a sudden I heard this tapping sound, like a someone tapping a stone against a wall, which made one of my dogs start barking. I have an exceptionally good sense of hearing and I'm standing in that exact spot smoking every single night, this wasnt just regular nature sounds it was 100% a different sound I had never heard standing there before.
Got freaked out instantly, so I got one of the dogs in while the other was taking a crap at the other end of the garden... Ran in to get my phone so I could tell my sister but I had only taken a few steps when the dog that was still outside started going mad as well, looking up at my roof.

I went outside to bring him back in and tried to see if I could spot anything on the roof, but with the back light on I was getting blinded and couldn't see anything... So me & the other dog just ran inside. My sister had said she had also heard some noises but she was gonna try sleep anyway since she had work really early.

So I go back to my room and start talking to one of my pals on Disc, was too scared to watch videos or anything or make too much noise but still had to get my mind off it. There was nothing for about 15 or 20 mins but then I heard a car pull up outside my house followed by loads more thumps and noises for the next couple mins... at this point I was genuinely trembling and I couldn't even get up to get a drink from the fridge, my muscles weren't up for pushing me out of the chair, then my phone buzzes and I read a text from my sister:
"I called the guards (police), they're sending someone down to check. It sounded like something was dropped on the roof above me"
Luckily we live close to a police station so about 5 mins later we hear them pull up and they start scanning the roof with their flashlights. They knock on the door and we let them in and bring them out back, me & my sis are in the kitchen when we hear one of the guards go "The fuck are ye doing up there?" then one of the guards runs back out to the front of the house, and you just see this mad thing drop down off my roof and straight away the garda starts lashing the handcuffs onto him and they haul him away

They said he has "clear mental health issues", and this would explain how erratic some of the movement/noises were and how he didn't run away when my dogs started barking at him, but why would he start doing that stone tapping thing I was talking about earlier? Part of me thinks he was with others and was signalling them with that stone to say its not clear... but again, doesnt make sense why he'd stick around for so long himself.

@apathy: That would have scared to crap out of me. Glad your sister decided to call the police to check out the situation. Also glad they took him away and you weren't harmed by him.

It definitely rivals the other 2 scariest moments of my life... ^^, we were really lucky, I live on a nice road but it's kind of sandwiched between 2 gangland areas so it could have been a lot worse.

Were you disappointed that Portugal lost?
Slightly but it's not my main team so it's not a huge issue for me. It is a shame that we won't be able to see Ronaldo in the competition though.

@apathy That is crazy and I would definitely have been scared! Your sister calling the police was definitely a great movie. I honestly think I would have ignored it as well for a bit unless it kept continuing on and on through the night.

Every weekend is going to end up being with me just resting. Really need all this lockdown/restricted stuff to end so we can go back to normal and I can stop being lazy

I just quit working 6 days. I'm going to spend my weekends sleeping and mowing. During winter. A whole lot of nothing.

Nice. Enjoy the weekends and the increased amount of sleep. 6 days must have been a killer, to be honest. Only having 1 day off is just not something I could ever imagine doing.

I do want some heat and sunshine over here in the UK since it's so grey and dull but then I realise how much I would end up hating it. Hate it when its so hot that clothes that getting sticky
