Sticky Chit Chat Lounge

That avatar deserves a permanent ban.

Evening everyone. Finally got my spare laptop sorted out *touch wood *.

Got a driving lesson tomorrow morning as well so an early night for me

Have a good night Ash and good luck on your driving lesson!

Have a good night DH, I will catch you all in the morning!

Lot's of exciting things happening in the next week :)

I think it amusing how much you like that avatar.
It was one of the images I could salvage from the early days of Q Army (2007 or 2008) so yeah I'm kind of attached to it.

Well funeral for my grandfather is on Thursday and wake at a local pub. Checked the pub menu and not a single item I can eat. Parents said they'll bring me something but I bet they'll forget and doubt pub would be happy to have outside food brought in. It's 2020 and still places exist that don't cater for vegans at all. Crazy.

I'm sorry to hear about that. It's not that far-fetched to believe there aren't places that don't cater to specific niches; but, if you bring your own food and plan for it, just explain if they ask. You can't eat a salad or some cooked vegetable dish or soup there?

It's not really a niche when veganism is very popular in my country. Even KFC has a vegan item now.

Looking at the menu they don't seem to do any of that.

I'd prefer not to bring my own food for reasons stated in previous post plus don't want to bring attention to myself.

You can't get upset at a restaurant for not serving vegan items. They have every right to set menu items just as you have the right to refuse to eat anything there. You can bring your own food and if people ask, tell them. The restaurant/pub does not offer vegan choices on the menu and maybe, just maybe, the pub doesn't know that people would be interested in said items. You have to look at it from all viewpoints.

Any games that you guys want me to play and stream :p that I have WTF
Grand Theft Auto perhaps? lol

Also, good afternoon everyone. Just working on some laundry and thinking about cooking up some grub.

I'm doing well, thanks for asking! How are you?

I'm not "upset" but it's bad for business in a country with a large vegan community that is gaining more traction daily. Very few places, now, actually do not cater for vegans. So it's incredibly strange to find a place that doesn't.

If this were years ago I'd understand but nowadays you can find vegan options in most eating establishments.

If anything I don't think you can see it from my point of view.

How haven't I seen it from your viewpoint? There is no requirement for a business to cater to you because you can simply go somewhere else and eat. Yes, it's unfortunate that your family picked somewhere without vegan options.

They have a menu that they pick and choose, it's kind of similar to message boards and online communities, that fills a niche. They do not have to change their menu to cater to everyone. They could decide to say, cook hot dogs or chili, and that's what they're known for and stick to because it works. If a restaurant diversifies and increases their menu too much then they also have to factor in the increased costs of the materials for the extra items.
