Hey there, my name is Elijah but commonly go by prophet on forums nowadays.

I was originally part of the "snowglobe" that was known as ZetaBoards and was staff at multiple different boards such as Outline, GraphicForce, Boost, etc. I've been browsing forums for nearly 15 years or so and only recently came back after a 6 years hiatus. Wife just gave birth to our child 5 weeks ago, so currently on paternity leave for another week until I go back to work. I currently work as a stock broker for a large company based in the US, and I enjoy it for the most part. Benefits are great and so is the pay. In my free time, I'm usually watching anime/reading manga or doing some sort of activity such as golfing, fishing, or going to the shooting range. I'm pretty easy going and get along with everyone, so if you have any questions feel free to ask. :)

Nice introduction, and congratulations for your newborn child! :)

Welcome to DH!!!

Hey Elijah, it's awesome to see you here at DH. Welcome!

Congrats on the new baby! Your first born? :)
Thank you all for the warm welcomes! It is my first born. We plan on trying for 1 more in a year or so but it's exhausting and definitely difficult! Just had to take her to 2 doctors visits where one of them, they had to put a camera down her nose and she screamed bloody murder. Definitely broke my heart but at least we know that she's healthy.

It does hurts when you see your baby crying, I know. I got 5 :)

Welcome aboard!

What's the part you enjoy most working on a broker firm? - I do day trading :)

Honestly, just being involved in the industry. It's fast paced. Time goes by incredibly fast. My favorite aspect is teaching others how to use the trading platform and educating clients on how to place specific trades and what the purpose is behind those trades. I've day traded in the past but I just don't have the time to do so anymore. I also don't have always feel like having 25k equity in my accounts at all times. Day traders have to be the most annoying clients to deal with though, especially those that are always referencing WSB and have discord dings going on in the background. Most PDT rules are industry wide and aren't company specific so they always have something to complain about. My company paid for my licenses and paid for all of my training, and it's a change of pace from being in the restaurant industry. I worked as a chef and assistant manager for a company for 8 years before making the move.

Congrats! I’d definitely want to have the first and the second child separated in age a little bit more. I’ve got two nieces living with us who are right at 13 months apart, and they’re a handful.

At what age do you believe one could introduce/teach about the stock market to kids? I have mixed feelings about it.
Hard to say, obviously I think you need to have some financial literacy to go with. Regardless 18-21 is an ideal age but at the same time, I'd recommend starting them off with paper trading and going from there so they aren't losing actual money but it really depends on if they have the fortitude to learn. If they don't, there isn't an age I'd recommend.

I'd say a year before we try for another but yeah, that's understandable. I'd rather just get it over with and be done with it all so I'm not raising a newborn at the age of 40. :p
